Description

Costume reference for Belladonna (Sept '10).

Bio
A young laboratory assistant to Dr. Mendel, a scientist working on experiments with recombinant DNA using nanotechnology, Donna Adams was a quiet and withdrawn, but brilliant graduate student. Taken for granted by the doctor, who exploited her for her gifts with genetic manipulation, she toiled anonymously while he gained greater and greater acclaim.

One night while working late in the lab, Donna accessed Dr. Mendel's computer in order to retrieve some experiment data. She discovered Dr. Mendel's work was a sham.

Partially funded by the military, who provided the nanomachines, and based otherwise solely upon her own theories and genetic manipulation experiments with plantlife, he was not the peaceful and benevolent figure she had believed, and instead nothing short of a genetic arms dealer, selling to the highest bidder.

Shocked and disillusioned, Donna found herself overwhelmed. She knew she should confront the doctor, but even her anger wouldn't allow that. Desperately trying to lose herself in her work, she began experimenting with the nanomachines, pressing their limits and forcing them to implant plant DNA into lab rats, their altered genes expressing characteristics of plantlife.

Perhaps it was only a matter of time before fate intervened. Struck by a moment's carelessness, Donna accidentally double-loaded the injection gun with nanomachines. The gun backfired, exploding and delivering a large dose of the machines into her bloodstream, and giving her the ability to manifest thorns, manipulate flora, and exact revenge...

I think I was pretty close on her costume's back! Score 1 for dumb luck :)

Do you envisage the vines as static costume elements, fulfilling the role of say a belt, or rather that they move and writh about her more, meaning I have to re-draw less?
